Celebrate National ‘Get to Know Your Customers Day’

Oct 20, 2017

Customers are at the heart of all we do

We use the word “Customer” so much when thinking about our business. Strategizing events, networking, generating volume and expanding territories -- all these actions are ways to reach more Customers. What we can’t afford to forget is what a Customer truly is: a person.

Your Customers are people -- your people -- in fact, probably some of your favorite people, including family members, friends and your extended local community.

You’re always excited to share with them the greatest new Jeunesse products, best packages and breaking news. But how much time do you spend with them, simply thanking them for being a Customer?

Celebrate quarterly ’Get to Know Your Customers Day’

National Get to Know Your Customers Day is celebrated quarterly -- January, April, July and October -- on the third Thursday of these months.

It’s the perfect day to schedule yourself time to give back to your Customers. Show them how much they mean to you with a combination of curiosity and gratitude. Display curiosity about their lives, and thank them for choosing Jeunesse to be a part of it.

There’s no better time than NOW to reach out

There are many ways you might celebrate Get to Know Your Customers Day. Whatever you do, it it sure to put a smile on your Customers’ faces.

Pick up the phone
Make a 5-10 minute phone call to chat with each Customer -- to say hi and see how things are going. If they don’t answer, leave a message.

Comment, follow, share or retweet
Comment on a Customer’s recent social media post, share or retweet a recent post from each Customer, or send each Customer a direct message. Engage with Customers you normally don’t speak to online, and do more than just “like” something. Show them you care with a few thoughtful words.

Survey says ...
Create an online survey and email it to Customers. Make it a fun survey about their favorite movies, music, TV, sports -- any topic that helps you get to know them better. You might choose to give participants a prize, or enter them in a raffle for a single prize.

Prepare ‘Important Dates’ cards
Keep an ongoing list of Customers’ birthdays, anniversaries, kids’ birthdays, graduations or other important dates. Prepare handwritten cards for all your Customers’ events taking place in the upcoming quarter. Seal them in envelopes and write the date of the event on a stickie note on the front. Organize them so that you can easily drop them in the mail at the appropriate time.

*hint: If you’re calling Customers today and you sent them a card for an event on the previous Get to Know Your Customers Day, follow up about it.

Get together
Host an event and introduce your Customers to one another. Use it as an opportunity to get to know them better and for them to get to know each other. Classic party games like charades or Pictionary can be a great way for people to get to know each other. Or go one step further and consider a themed costume or masquerade party. Not only will you get to know all of your Customers better, you’ll create great memories.
